What to expect from thread-lift?
You can expect a few millimeters of upward and backward traction, which will last 1-3 years. The treatment is not designed to be long-lasting, with the threads dissolvable and the natural ageing process still at work.
The sutures start to dissolve after about six months, leaving you with the collagen lift.
Repeat treatments may be necessary if you wish to maintain your look.
Different Threads material type?
The #threadlift comes in several forms, with different companies producing different brands. Each brand of thread, or dissolvable suture, has its selling points.
Each thread is a little different. The threads might come in one material or a combination of materials and have cones, barbs or other additions to the basic thread to provide a lift or a collagen boost.
Listed below is an overview of the different thread material types.
1. PDO Thread Type
Polydioxanone is a modern structural material that is used to produce #PDO threads. This material is normally used by surgeons for sewing together soft tissues and used in stitches. It does not cause any allergic reactions and is not toxic.
Polydioxanone has high-tensile strength. During the diffusion it stimulates formation of fibrous connective tissue. PDO threads usually last up to 8 months.
2. PCL Thread Type
Polycaprolactone is an innovative thread for lifting and rejuvenating the skin of the face without surgery. #PCL threads work like a filler. Fill in wrinkles while stimulating collagen production. After the introduction of the threads, the effect appears after 4-5 weeks and can last 2-4 years.
3. PLLA Thread Type
Poly-L-Lactic Acid has the ability to accumulate water, so the moisture content of tissues after implantation increases and skin firmness is restored. The body reacts to the introduction of the thread by forming connective tissue around it which provides an increasing tightening effect.
Over time, when #PLLA threads are completely dissolved, the connective tissues formed around them also begin to dissolve as well. PLLA threads can last up to 18 months.
Which type of Threads should I use?
Your doctor will decide which thread is best for your needs during your consultation, as they have several at hand.
Determining the appropriate thread involves evaluating various factors, such as your anatomy, the specific areas targeted for treatment, the degree of skin laxity or sagging, and the overall condition of your skin. In some cases, it may be necessary to commence with different treatments before considering this particular procedure.
A thread lift can only do so much for a face, so is best suited to people in their late thirties up to early fifties with mild to moderate (rather than severe) skin laxity. Older people who are unable or unwilling to undergo more advanced surgery can also benefit from a thread lift.
